OPCMIA Local 919 business manager Roy Bizzutto was proud to attend a ceremony to unveil the new name for the Pattullo Bridge Replacement.
The new name is stal’əw̓asəm Bridge. The english name is Riverview Bridge.
The stal’əw̓asəm name was given to the bridge by the Musqueam Indian Band and Kwantlen First Nation and is in hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓, a Coast Sailish Indigenous language. It is pronounced stah-loh-aw-sum.
We are proud of the work our members have done to build this bridge and of the new name! Great work and congratulations to those who continue to build this incredible project!
